Apollo Nellore unit to introduce telemedicine

Telemedicine facility is being introduced at the Apollo Specialty Hospitals, Nellore, to help the patients in remote locations to reduce their costs of treatment and expenditure on medical travel.

Apollo unit head Dr Vishnu Vardhan said that having been recently inaugurated, their hospital here was celebrating the World Health Day celebrations by taking the medical help closer to the people in all respects.

He said that being a world class tertiary care hospital, Apollo Nellore had digitised facilities with 200-bedded capacity. Fifty per cent concessions on health check-ups and 20 per cent on CT, MRI, blood tests and other investigations are offered as part of health day utsav.

Dr. Vishnu said that the latest hospital here was aimed at catering to the health needs of the patients from the neighbouring Prakasam, Chittoor and Kadapa districts as well.

Stating that modern technologies were being used to upgrade the treatments,

Dr, Vishnu said that the new telemedicine facility would be very advantageous to patients as it would minimise their spending on medical travel.

Senior consultants across all the specialities are providing their services at Apollo Nellore, he added.
