A delegation of AP Non-gazetted Officers Association led by its president P. Ashok Babu on Saturday called on TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and PCC chief to seek support of their parties in opposing the Bill on Telangana when it would be referred to the Assembly.

Mr. Naidu told the NGOs that he will convene a meeting of the legislature party ahead of the Assembly session to take a view on the Bill. Naidu said that he was in no position to take a stand this way or that way because the party had already given a letter in the matter to the Centre.

However, TDP leaders of Telangana and coastal districts were focussing on the demands of their respective regions irrespective of his intervention, according to AP NGOs association organising secretary M. Venkateswara Rao.

On the other hand, the APCC chief expressed the commitment of Congress MLAs from coastal and Rayalaseema districts to oppose the Bill in the Assembly.

Mr. Satyanarayana said he did not expect the Congress high command to impose its view on the party MLAs. Even if it was thrust, the MLAs will oppose the Bill.
