Earlier it was decided to block some SGT vacancies in every mandal for the postings of those to be recruited under the DSC

The government has decided to notify all the vacancies of Secondary Grade Teachers for the purpose of transfer counselling being taken up in this month.

Earlier it was decided to block some SGT vacancies in every mandal for the postings of those to be recruited under the DSC. However, following representations from teachers unions to consider all the vacancies for the transfers, the School Education Department agreed to consider their plea subject to some conditions.

Conditions

The Government Order issued on Friday said that all the vacancies of SGTs would be notified without blocking any vacancy. However, the SGTs who were transferred under the Transfer Counselling would not be relieved without substitute. Also there should be 50 per cent regular teachers working in the school and also only the senior-most Secondary Grade teachers would be relieved.

Earlier in the day, the Progressive Recognised Teachers Union leaders B.V. Mohan Reddy, G.Srinivasulu Naidu (both MLCs), State president Venkat Reddy and general secretary P.Ravinder met the Principal Secretary, School Education and urged that all the SGT vacancies be considered for transfer counselling

Later speaking to media persons, Mr. Mohan Reddy said that thanks to the government’s decision about one lakh SGT posts would be now available for transfer counselling.

He also said that the government agreed to announce the schedule soon for inter-district mutual transfers, spouse transfer and for those on medical grounds.
