AP govt employees to protest tomorrow

November 22, 2010 05:55 pm | Updated 05:55 pm IST - Hyderabad

Government employees in Andhra Pradesh would organise a massive protest tomorrow to press for their demands that include hike in HRA, filling up vacant posts among others.

Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (JAC), teachers, workers and pensioners met the Chief Secretary S V Prasad today and told him that police were creating hurdles for organising the ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ programme tomorrow.

The JAC leaders had yesterday rejected the appeal of Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao to call off the proposed stir.

The demands of the employees include filling up vacant posts, hiking House Rent Allowance (HRA), regularisation of contract labour among others.
