Second day of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Monsoon session was adjourned after slogan-shouting members of YSRC Party mobbed Speaker's podium demanding that the House take up a discussion on the grant of special category status for the State.

Soon after the house met, placard-waving Opposiiton members rushed into the well of the House and raised slogans in favour of Special Category Status. Leader of Opposiiton Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the Speaker to suspend the question hour and take up a discussion on the SCS immediately.

This was opposed by BJP and TDP members, who wanted the Question to continue. The Opposition members resumed their seats while Mr. Jagan spoke and insisted on taking up the discussion on Special Category Status.

Intervening, Legislative Affairs Minister Yenamala Ramakrishnudu said that the Question Hour was the property of the House and the Opposition cannot take away the right of the members. He said that if the Opposition was not interested in the Question Hour, they could leave the House and return at the time of debate on Special Category Status.

The remark by Y. Ramakrishnudu enraged the Oppositiion members and they rushed to the well, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the house for 15 minutes, While Mr. Jagan said his party offered support for the Special Category Status discussion, which would benefit the TDP, Mr. Ramakrishnudu rejected the offer saying "we do not want to attract 11 chargesheets like you and we do not need such a support from you". This angered the YSRCP members and they rushed to the well of the house.
