Amitabh Bachchan to be brand ambassador

Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan will act as brand ambassador for health sector in Andhra Pradesh.

Disclosing this Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas here on Tuesday said Mr. Amitabh Bachchan gave his consent to promote health awareness and help build health sector and would offer his services free of cost.

Mr. Srinivas said the health sector was the worst hit due to bifurcation as major corporate hospitals and medical and health institutions were all located in Hyderabad. The State government was seeking the help of experts and renowned medical doctors and specialists in various fields to promote health facilities from primary health centres to tertiary hospitals in public sector and offer latest treatment for diseases like cancer. Funds have been released to Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences.
