The 15-day ongoing agitation against bifurcation of the State became colourful in Rajahmundry on Wednesday as folk artists and different couriers in the City organised variety of fancy dresses during their rallies. The green sowing on middle of the roads by Agriculture Department employees was one of the major attractions.
Folk artistes led by Vibhooti Srinivasa Raju organiseed fancy dresses and Burra Katha, Oggu Katha, artistes singing parody songs against KCR and others took out rally from Satellite City to Kotipalli bus stand and they reached Kotagummam. Large crowd gathered to have a glimpse of this big contingent who were dressed like Alluri Sitarama Raju Alluri junior Gandhi, KCR, Telugu Talli , Lord Krishna-Kamala Priya, Veerapandya Kattabramhana-V. Syamprasad, Burrakatha by V. Balurao and brothers.
Under the banner of State Archaka Parishat, all the Archakas in temples, Purohits in the City, Brahmin youth have participated in Relay fast at Lord Siva Idol near Kotagummam on Wednesday. K.VS.R.N. Acharyulu, State Secretary of Archaka Parishat who organised the relay fast spoke on this occasion. He said that they would meet A.K. Antony Committee in New Delhi and appraise him about the present situation and worst conditions that will prevail after bifurcation of the State. Parishat youth wing leader K. Kiran Kumar, Srinivasacharyulu and Brahmin Youth leader Nimishakavi Venkatesh participated.
Godavari Swimmers Club on Wednesday early morning organised swimming with more than 100 swimmers. They displayed huge banner in support of Samikyandhra in a motor-boat while other swimmers started swimming from Pushkara Ghat to Rail-cum-Road Bridge near Goutama Ghat. Women and children also participated in this swimming.
“Vari natlu on road” (sowings) by employees of Agriculture department, who are on strike. The women employees stared sowings at four road corner in front of Pushkara Ghat Sivalingam, which attracted hundreds of agitators and public. The leader of Agriculture employees Mr. Venumadhav said that they want to tell the Centre through this variety programme that if the State is bifurcated and Telangana leaders construct en number of dams on river Godavari and do not let water to down stream areas, the farmers of Seemandhra has to sow on roads instead of agriculture fields.
The two-lined rickshaw show organised by YSR Congress party MLC Adireddy Apparao occupied centre stage of all rallies. MLC and his party leaders T. K. Visweswara Reddy and Bommana Rajkumar themselves drove rickshaws symbolising that they have to pull rickshaws if the State is divided.
And, the party youth leaders Polu Kiran Kumar Reddy and Gurram Goutam started fast-unto-death at Dr. Ambedkar statue near Gokavaram bus stand which was inaugurated by former floor leader of Congress in Municipal Corporation Polu Vijayalakshmi. YSRC leader Guttula Muralidhar Rao, BJP leader Nalam Padmasri, Chamber JAC co-convener Nandepu Srinivas visited the tent and extended their support to both youth leaders.
On the other hand, APEPDCL employees took out rally half-nakedly on roads, protesting against bifurcation of State. P.V.S. Krishna Rao, State president of Bharata Vikasa Parishat led “Godavari Harati” in early hours of Wednesday, while Sekhar’s Dance School students displayed their talent on different roads in the City with placards against bifurcating the State.
