Machilipatnam-based Water Sports Simple India Private Limited, a private firm, has taken up an aerial survey of backwaters here to introduce water sports and tap tourism potential.
The survey was done with a drone camera identifying the channels of backwaters and the navigational way to reach the sea through the backwaters and other places which would be developed into halting places for tourists in the heart of the backwaters.
Beginning at the harbour at Gilakaladindi, the private firm plans to introduce a range of water sports activities apart from boating in the backwaters of Machilipatnam and Kanuru. At least five km. of the backwater channel at the Gilakaladindi alone covers a breathtaking view of old Machilipatnam port area, harbour and marine police activities during the boat ride.

Kakinada and Visakhapatnam coasts are our very next priorities to give a fillip to water sports,” Water Sports Simple India Private Limited director Subrahmanyam Nagaraju told The Hindu .
