Actor Pradeep Shakti dies of heart attack

Vasireddy Pradeep Shakti, cine actor who is a native of Guntur, died of a heart attack in New York on Saturday.

Pradeep used to stay for a while in Lakshmipuram before moving to Hyderabad and later to the United States where his family started a hotel.

He was well-known for his roles in films like Mani Ratnam’s Nayakudu and Vamsi’s classics Chettu Kinda Pleader, Ladies Tailor and April Okati Vidudala etc.

The veteran actor was last seen in the movie Subrahmanyam For Sale. Incidentally, he played a restaurateur in the film too.

Vasireddy Pramod, managing director of Harihar Cinemas, said that Pradeep was a warm natured person and added that he was passionate about films.
