ACB officials trap Assistant Audit Officer

‘Sought bribe to sanction widow pension’

Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday caught red-handed Assistant Audit Officer Battula Rajendra at his office in Narasanna Nagar while he was accepting bribe of ₹5,000 from a woman to sanction widow pension.

According to the ACB officials, P. Padmavathi, who applied for pension, could not get it despite visiting office several times. Rajendra reportedly demanded the bribe to get the work done. Based on her complaint, the ACB officials laid the trap. A case was registered and investigation is on.
