ACB officials nab two VROs

Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths nabbed two Village Revenue Officers in Kurnool and Vizianagaram district on Tuesday.

In Kurnool, the ACB officials arrested Yellappa, the VRO of Gonabavi in Adoni mandal, on Tuesday, when he demanded and accepted Rs. 6,000 as bribe from a farmer for issuing e-passbook.

When the VRO demanded the bribe for issuing e-passbook for two-and-a-half acres of land, Nagendrappa, a farmer of Honur village, complained to ACB officials. The ACB officials arrested the VRO and seized the tainted money from him.

In Vizianagaram district, Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths laid a trap and caught Madhava Naidu, Kalavarai VRO in Bobbili mandal for allegedly demanding and accepting Rs. 5,000 from T. Venkata Narayana Reddy, a farmer, who approached the official to make changes in pattadar passbook on Tuesday, according to sources in ACB office here.

The Village Revenue Officer was arrested and produced in ACB Court.
