The Rama temple constructed at the police quarters here drew huge crowds on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami on Saturday.

Then Superintendent of Police A.K. Khan had taken the initiative for construction of the Sri Ramachandra Swamy temple in the 1990s to promote communal harmony. Continuing the tradition, incumbent Superintendent of Police Ch. Srikanth, along with his wife, took part in the celebrations at the tastefully-decorated temple.

Former MP Magunta Srinvasulu Reddy and Deputy Superintendent of Police G. Srinivasa Rao were among those who witnessed the wedding of the Lord performed by priests led by Matampalli Dakshinamurthy. A person in the attire Lord Hanuman was the cynosure of all eyes. Devotees vied with each other in getting the tangy ‘Panakam’.
