VISAKHAPATNAM: Kancharapalem police registered a case against a 22-year-old B.Tech student for allegedly capturing pictures of a girl while she was changing her dress and then blackmailing her for sexual favours, here on Wednesday.
Y. Nikhil, final-year B.Tech student of a private college, befriended with the victim who used to work in a shopping mall in the city as a salesgirl.
Having come to know that the girl was interested in joining the film industry, he posed as a photographer and promised to shoot her portfolio, said Kancharapalem SHO R.V.S.S. Chandrasekhar.
Police said the duo went to some spot for the photo-shoot and while the girl was changing her dress, Nikhil allegedly captured some nude pictures of the girl. Later, he blackmailed her and threatened to post the pictures on the public domain if she did not satisfy his lust. Quoting the complaint, Mr. Chandrasekhar said the girl yielded to his demand on the condition that the accused would delete them.
But he did not delete them and continued to harass and sexually exploit her. According to the police, two more girls also lodged complaints against Nikhil. The police have registered cases under IPC Sections 366, 376, 354, 506 and Section 66(E) of IT act and have taken Nikhi into custody.
