South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager V.K. Yadav on Friday inspected the facilities at the Tirupati railway station.

Mr. Yadav, who was on his maiden visit to the temple city after assuming charge as the zonal head, undertook an extensive tour of the station, covering the premises from the main entrance on the north side to the south entrance area near TTD’s Govindaraja Choultries.

Accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager Amitabh Ojha and other officials of the Guntakal Division, Mr. Yadav enquired about the developmental plans for the station. He further inspected platforms, booking offices, food stalls, waiting and circulating areas along with the train maintenance pit lines abutting the platforms.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Yadav reiterated that safety of passengers would be SCR’s priority. “Tirupati is among the busiest and important stations. Development here is a continuous process and various plans are in the pipeline,” he remarked. Mr. Yadav also promised to look into aspects concerning passenger facilities/amenities which could be improved at the station. All rail development plans would be implemented in coordination with the State government, he said.
