RTC driver rewarded for exemplary driving skills

It was a proud moment for 57-year-old Gillella Dastagiri, a driver from Proddatur depot of Andhra Pradesh State Transport Corporation (APSRTC), who received a cash award of Rs. 25,000 from Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways for keeping his 34-year-long driving career accident-free. Mr. Dastagiri received the award at the meeting of National Roads and Highways Safety Council organised by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director M. Malakondaiah, congratulated Mr. Dastagiri on his achievement and said other drivers should follow his example.

In the past, Mr. Dastagiri bagged awards for the same feat one each at the regional and zonal level and two awards at State-level.
