HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party has demanded that Leader of the Opposition Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy makes public facts pertaining to his involvement in the affairs of the “suitcase companies” which made huge investments in the Sakshi media group owned by him.
TDP senior leader Payyavula Keshav said the name of Mr. Jagan and his associate companies came to the fore yet again with the nationwide raids on black money hoarders. Companies like Hingora, Bhaskar Fund Management and others which invested huge amounts in Mr. Jagan’s newspaper and TV channel also made investments in the firms allegedly owned by BSP president Mayawati’s brother Anand Kumar.
“Major incidents of corruption across the country have their roots in Mr. Jagan’s companies,” he alleged. He said Mr. Jagan’s involvement in irregularities would come out once the investigation being conducted by the Enforcement Directorate and other agencies was completed.
Mr. Keshav took exception to Mr. Jagan’s criticism of irrigation projects undertaken by the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh. “Mr. Jagan is unable to digest the progress that is being made in the irrigation sector that received top priority under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and is hence indulging in levelling baseless charges against the government,” he said.
