KURNOOL: YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy staged a road show at Sunnipenta in Srisailam constituency on Thursday, the first day of his week-long Rythu Bharosa Yatra in Kurnool district.

Mr. Reddy visited the house of a party leader, Vasantha Rao, who was killed allegedly in an attack by Telugu Desam Party activists in 2015 and consoled his family members. Accusing the ruling party of resorting to murder politics, he promised to stand by the kin of the deceased and assist them.

‘Jagan has no moral right’

Meanwhile, Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhara Reddy, who switched over from the YSRC to the Telugu Desam Party about three months ago, termed Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy’s Rythu Bharosa Yatra as a farce. Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, who opposed the TDP’s promise of loan waiver for farmers before the 2014 elections, had no moral right to stage Rythu Bharosa Yatra, the MLA said on Thursday.

Mr. Rajasekhara Reddy inspected the defunct Siddhapuram lift irrigation project at Atmakur and promised desilting and renovation of Siddhapuram tank. He promised to get it opened by the Chief Minister by March this year.
