RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Film actor and President of Movie Artists Association (MAA) G. Rajendra Prasad has advised the youth to develop a positive attitude to achieve targets in their life.

He along with Vice Chancellor of Nannaya University M. Mutyala Naidu and CMR group chairman Mavuri Venkatarama inaugurated a State-level NSS Youth Festival on Monday in Nannaya University.

Mr. Prasad said that student life was an important phase in the three phases of life and one should mould this phase in a positive way by using education as the best platform. Without basic education they could not get on in any other fields and recalled that he passed the engineering degree with first class and then joined the Pune film institute.

He entertained the students with humour throughout his speech and reminded about his acquaintance with Godavari districts during the 1970s through director Vamsi’s film Ladies Tailor .

Prof. Mutyala Naidu said that interaction with people like Mr. Prasad was a rare opportunity because of his experience in life. He said that the comedian had met former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao several times and Mr. Rao saw his films for relaxation. “Acting is part of Mr. Rajendra Prasad’s life, but as president of MAA he is taking up many service activities, which are an inspiration to NSS volunteers.”

NSS Coordinator of Nannaya University N. Ravichandra welcomed the guests and University Registrar A. Narasimha Rao and Actor Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor and others felicitated CMR Chairman Mavuri Venkataramana.

NSS volunteers from 16 universities participated in the function and took out a rally wearing colourful attire and performing ‘kommu’ dances.
