39 trains diverted

The Southern Railway has diverted 39 trains, 15 of them incoming, and partially cancelled six trains passing through Andhra Pradesh in view of the rail roko called by the Telangana joint action committee from Saturday 6 a.m. to Monday 6 p.m.

Among the 24 outgoing trains diverted are the Chennai Central-New Delhi Grand Trunk Express, the Chennai Central-New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express, the Chennai Central-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, the Kanyakumari-Jammu Tawi Himsagar Express, the Coimbatore-Jaipur Express, the Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express, the Madurai-Hazrat Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Express and the Tirunelveli-Bilaspur Express.

Among the partially cancelled trains are the outgoing Chennai-Hyderabad Express, the Charminar Express and the Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad Sabari Express and their incoming pairs. Train 12968 Jaipur-Chennai Express has been rescheduled by four hours, to leave Jaipur at 11.30 p.m. on Sunday. A special information centre set up at Chennai Central can be reached on 044-25357398.
