The traffic and the law and order police booked 214 cases against vehicle riders on charges of drunk and drive in the city on Friday night.
Police conducted a special drive at Gollapudi Y Junction, Ghat Road, Padavalarevu, PCR Junction, Y.V. Rao Estate, Ramavarappadu Ring Road, NTR Circle and other junctions and registered cases against the drivers, who were riding autos, cars, lorries, buses and bikes under the influence of alcohol.
The officers conducted counselling to the accused on Saturday, said the police in a press release.
