Sixteen persons were injured when two groups were involved in a brawl over a land dispute in Nanjarampeta of Rajam, Srikakulam district.

According to the police, the two groups led by Majji Lakshmannaidu and Adapa Srinivasa Rao were claiming ownership over 5 cents of land in survey numbers 212-7 and 212-8. Srinivasa Rao’ s family alleged that Mr. Lakshmnnaidu supporters removed the fencing of the land forcibly although the issue was before the court. It led to fight among the supporters of each group.

They were admitted to Rajam government hospital. Rajam Circle Inspector Sankara Rao and other police personnel filed case against both the groups and warned their supporters not to indulge in violence.
