‘SC, ST Commission focussing on filling up backlog posts’

Andhra Pradesh SC and ST Commission Chairman Karem Sivaji on Saturday said that the State government targeted to spend ₹12,380 crore for land purchasing scheme for the SC and ST families.

Speaking to newsmen after interacting with the representatives of the SC and ST associations here, he said that nearly ₹3,000 crore would be spent under the land purchasing scheme for the STs, providing them land as well as house.

“A study on the economic status of the SC and ST families is in full swing. The commission is focussing on addressing incidents of atrocity against the SC and STs,” Mr. Sivaji said.

The commission chief has appealed to the revenue officials to conduct a village-level meet in every month, addressing the atrocities against the SC and STs. Mr. Sivaji has announced that the commission was working on filling up the backlog posts in various departments across the State.

Bandar Revenue Divisional Officer J. Udaya Bhaskar and SC Corporation Executive Director N.V.V. Satyanarayana accompanied Mr. Sivaji.
