₹11 crore ‘kasula haram’ donated

A U.S.-based NRI, Ramalinga Raju, on Saturday donated a golden ‘kasula haram’ worth ₹11 crore to the temple of Lord Venkateswara.

About 30 kg of gold is expected to have gone into the making of the five-layered ‘haram’, which would be adorned to the main deity inside the temple.

Mr. Raju handed over the necklace to TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Ranganayakula mandapam.

Dairy, calendar released

Later, Mr. Naidu launched the Telugu version of the TTD’s seva website and released the 2018 New Year Diary and calendar. He said he felt honoured as he was presenting the ‘Silk Vastrams’ for the eleventh time to the hill temple.
