10 arrested in search operation at Pedana

Police on Sunday arrested 10 people and seized eleven vehicles during a cordon and search operation at Pedana town in Krishna district. The operation was conducted at Indira Colony and railway station by teams led by Bandar Divisional Superintendent of Police D. Surya Sravan.

“The accused did not have identity proofs. They also failed to explain as to why they were staying at Pedana,” Mr. Sravan Kumar said.

Police added that some persons who encouraged gambling in the town were counselled. “We seized at least eleven two wheelers, as those who claimed their ownership failed to produce necessary documents,” the officer said. Machilipatnam Rural Circle Inspector Mr. Narasimhamurthy also participated in the search operation, which was held in the early hours of Sunday.

The accused did not have identity proofs. They also failed to explain as to why they were staying at Pedana.
