Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna delivering dialogues from ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ after laying the foundation stone for 30-bed hospital at Nimmakuru in Krishna district on Monday.

Actor and Hindupur MLA N. Balakrishna on Monday said research was on for a biopic on his father and Telugu Desam Party founder N.T. Rama Rao.

Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of a function to lay the foundation stone for the Nimmakuru Community Health Centre, Mr. Balakrishna said research on the movie that chronicled the life story of his father was in a crucial stage.

“Obviously, I will play the role of my father. People associated with my father are the most credible sources to rely on for preparing the script, bringing many facets of life of my father and incidents which are not in the public domain,” he said.

Mr. Balakrishna was given a rousing welcome by his fans and residents of Nimmakuru, who praised his performance in the recently released film Gautamiputra Satakarni .

Mr. Balakrishna reminded the Andhra Pradesh government on the need to include N.T. Rama Rao’s life story in textbooks.

“I request the State government to introduce a lesson in textbooks prescribed for schoolchildren,” he said.

Addressing the gathering after garlanding the statues of his parents here, Mr. Balakrishna said he missed the opportunity of adopting Nimmakuru, as he had to take care of other projects as well as the Hindupur constituency.

“I have suggested to TDP general secretary and my son-in-law N. Lokesh to adopt Nimmakuru,” he said.
