‘Govt. for integrated development of capital region’

AP Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar said plans were afoot to complete the 320-km-long road network in the capital region by the end of 2018. The laying of seed access road had begun and other road packages were in advanced stages of tendering process.

Addressing residents of Venkatapalem village in Thullur Mandal of Guntur district on Saturday, after allotting plots to them on a lottery basis, Mr. Sreedhar said the CRDA had targeted ‘integrated development’ of villages so that the lands would fetch the best possible value. The government was taking steps for speedy development of the capital region and the farmers, who gave away their precious lands, would be in a better position in the years ahead, Mr. Sreedhar added.

Two Anna canteens

to be opened

Guntur District Collector Kritika Batra said two Anna canteens would be opened in Thullur and Yarrabalem villages by Sankranti, in addition to the one situated near the Interim Government Complex at Velagapudi.

These canteens were among the various welfare schemes being implemented by the government, she asserted.

Residential, commercial plots allotted

The Revenue and CRDA officials have allotted 1,225 residential plots spanning 239 acres and 954 commercial plots spread in 88 acres to 855 farmers. They gave 1,267 acres under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS). Thullur MPP Vadlamudi Padma Latha, ZPTC Bezawada Narendra Babu, Venkatapalem sarpanch Ravi and MPTC Naga Malleswara Rao, CRDA Directors B.L. Chennakesava Rao (lands) and N. Prabhakar Reddy (IT), Planning Officer G. Nageswara Rao and competent authority Subba Rao were present.
