Amitabh auctions sunglasses for ‘save the tiger' campaign

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday participated in a ‘save the tiger' campaign launched by a television channel at Pench Tiger Reserve here.

The megastar auctioned his sunglasses to his son Abhishek Bachchan for Rs. 40 lakh over cell phone to save the tigers facing treat of extinction.

Amitabh has been in Pench for last two days.

On the occasion, playback singer Shanker Mahadevan enthralled audience with some of his songs.

Felicitation

A forest guard, Kamlesh, was felicitated for putting his life at stake to save the endangered species.

Journalist honoured

Journalist Sanjeev Choudhary was also honoured for his reporting on wild life, especially the big cats.

Mr. Bachchan is scheduled to leave for Mumbai on Monday morning by a special plane.
