Senior BJP leader and former Finance Minister, Yashwant Sinha, has said that the Advani episode will not make any impact on the electoral prospects of the party. Asked whether it will make any change (in the political spectrum), he said, “No; it has come and gone. I think the chapter is closed”. He was answering questions from the media on the sidelines of a function at the Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies in Kochi on Wednesday.

Mr. Sinha said he has not spoken to Mr. Advani to elicit his view on the issue. The party president is understood to have given an assurance that the concerns raised by Mr. Advani will be addressed.. He refused to draw conclusions on whether RSS exerted control over the party. Asked about his absence at the party’s Goa conclave, he said he had intimated the party leadership about it.
