Activist, two policemen killed in Jharkhand

At least three persons, including an anti-displacement activist, was killed in Jharkhand.

The activist, Suresh Oraon, was killed in his village in Chatra district in north Jharkhand, while a CRPF jawan and a sub-inspector of Jharkhand police were killed in a separate incidents. The CRPF personnel Utpal Rava of ofCobra battalion and sub-inspector Bonuwa Oraon were killed during an operation launched in Jambori between Khunti and Seraikhela district in south-east Jhrakhand.

Additional Director General [Operations] R Mullick of Jharkhand police told presspersons that the joint forces had launched the operations to nab the Maoists in the area around seven in the morning. The soldiers were killed in an exchange of fire and one of the CRPF personnel was still missing. It was not clear if any of the naxals were killed. The search operation was going on till late on Thursday.

Suresh Oraon, 27, an employee of Central Coalfields Limited [CCL], was killed around 10 am in his home village Purnadih. He was attending a programme when some miscreants shot him dead.
