A smooth Day Two of GST, says Centre

Day Two of implementation of the GST passed without major problems, the Finance Ministry said here on Sunday.

Officials of the Union and the the State governments have been providing information to trade and industry. “We have got encouraging reports from roadside dhabas and big restaurants as well as from Kirana shops to departmental stores that have started getting acclimatised to the new tax system,” he said.

Since June 25, 2.23 lakh new dealers have entered the GST Network system by filing draft applications. Of the 63,000 with full details, 32,000 have been granted fresh registrations.

Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia appealed to the people not to circulate any unverified messages through social media.
