A man in Bikaner has alleged that his minor daughter was raped by eight teachers, who also made a video of the act.

The alleged incident occurred in April 2015 and the FIR was registered on Friday after the girl’s father registered a complaint. “The FIR was lodged under Section 376-D [gangrape] of the IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences [POCSO] Act,” Nokha police station SHO Darjaram said.

Earlier, one of the teachers of the private school filed a case against four persons, including two co- usins of the girl, on March 20 for beating him up. Both the matters are being investigated, the SHO said.

Sachin Pilot slams CM

Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Saturday said Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was unable to provide security to women. Mr. Pilot also demanded a check on “anti-social elements.”

“In Rajasthan, we have a Chief Minister who is a woman. Despite being a woman Chief Minister, she is not able to give a sense of security to our sisters and mothers and women in the State,” Mr. Pilot said.

Criminal negligence

Expressing concern over the sexual assault of the minor, women activist Brinda Adige demanded that the accused be booked under the POCSO Act, and the school management booked for criminal negligence.

Former National Commission for Women member Shamina Shafiq called the incident “shocking.” (With inputs from ANI)
