The Supreme Court has fixed February 8, 2018 as the date for hearing the civil appeals in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute. It commenced final hearing in the dispute on Tuesday, a day before the 25th anniversary of the demolition of medieval-era structure.

2G spectrum allocation case verdict on December 21

A Delhi court on Tuesday fixed December 21 as the date for pronouncement of judgment in the 2G spectrum allocation case. "I have perused the files and will pronounce judgement on December 21 at 10.30 a.m." Special Judge O.P. Saini said in his brief order in the presence of the accused and counsel for the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate.

Coast Guard rescues 46 more fishermen near Lakshadweep

The Coast Guard on Tuesday rescued 46 more fishermen in distress off  Kerala. On Monday, Coast Guard vessel ICGS Samrat located six fishing vessels with 72 fishermen on board off the Bitra Island, official sources said. Of the fishermen rescued, 58 were from  Tamil Nadu,  while the remaining 14 were Keralites.

Supreme Court allows full enforcement of Trump travel ban

The Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to fully enforce  a ban on travel to the United States  by residents of six mainly Muslim countries. The justices, with two dissenting votes, said that the policy can take full effect even as legal challenges against it make their way through the courts. The action suggests the high court could uphold the latest version of the ban that Donald Trump announced in September.

UN official to arrive in N.Korea for talks
