Post-26/11, the U.S. had confronted Pakistan with “irrefutable” intelligence about the Lashkar-e-Taiba's involvement in the Mumbai attacks and said that the terror group continued to receive operational support from the military spy agencies of that country.
In a series of December 2008 meetings, top Bush administration officials told Pakistan that there was “irrefutable” intelligence proof that the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was responsible for the attack, The Washington Post reported on Sunday.
A written communication delivered to Pakistan had said: “It is clear to us that the LeT is responsible ...we know that it continues to receive support, including operational support, from the Pakistani military intelligence service.”
Six Americans were among those killed in the 2008 attacks on Mumbai.
