A suspected terrorist wanted by Indian security forces for more than a decade for his role in a bomb attack in Surat, Gujarat, that killed an eight-year-old girl and injured 12 others, has been traced to a grocery store in north England.
Mohammed Hanif Umerji Patel (49), known as “Tiger Hanif,” who was arrested in a police raid on a house in Bolton, Greater Manchester, faces extradition to India on charges of conspiracy to murder and to cause explosions. The arrest followed an Interpol warrant issued at the request of Indian authorities.
Patel has been remanded in police custody until March 25 when he will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.
