Police say a blast near a busy intersection in Myanmar’s main city of Yangon has killed one person and injured at least two others, one of them seriously.
Security officials at the scene say the explosion took place in the northern part of the city on Wednesday. It killed one woman and injured at least two women in a public toilet. The injured were taken to hospital.
The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they do not have authority to speak to the media.
Police sealed off the area, and used a sniffer dog to search for more possible bombs.
Bombings are rare but not unknown in Myanmar.
In late October, a homemade bomb exploded in a taxi killing the driver and wounding two passengers.
