Spokesman of the Salahuddin province police force in Iraq Col. Mohammed al-Jabouri has said a triple suicide bombing has left at least 11 members of the security forces dead and injured 34 security officers.
He said three militants rammed their explosives-laden vehicles on Saturday morning into a check point.
The attack came days after government forces recaptured the town of Shirqat, north of Tikrit, from Islamic State (IS) militants.
No group has claimed responsibility, but IS militants have claimed multiple similar attacks.
