Cyprus’ main airport in Larnaca was evacuated after a telephone call to police warning of a bomb threat, the Cyprus News Agency said.

Police evacuated passengers and employees from the airport’s main terminal after receiving a call saying an explosive device had been placed in a toilet.

Police conducted a sweep of the airport with the help of sniffer dogs before giving the all-clear. The bomb threat comes a day before US Vice-President Joe Biden’s three-day visit to the eastern Mediterranean island.
