The U.S. Geological Survey says a 6.2-magnitude earthquake has hit the Sea of Cortez between the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula and mainland Mexico. There were no immediate reports of damage.
The USGS says the quake had a depth of 10 km and its epicentre lay 121 km west-southwest of El Dorado, Mexico.
It struck at 7.40 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
