3 killed as Somali suicide bomber targets UN convoy

A Somali police officer on Wednesday said that a suicide bomber rammed his vehicle into a UN convoy near Mogadishu’s airport, killing three people.

Ahmed Ali said the attack also wounded seven people. Mr. Ali did not immediately say if those killed and wounded were a part of the UN convoy or were passers-by.

Yusuf Haji, a resident in the area, said that soldiers fired at pedestrians after the blast.
