Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani acknowledged on Sunday that the case of Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed was an “issue” between his country and India, but said Islamabad needed “substantial” evidence to try him in court.
“We are serious on the issue of Saeed, but the question is how to proceed against him without evidence. Courts here are independent, and we need substantial evidence against him,” he said, interacting with a group of journalists at his residence here. The Home Secretaries of the two countries would discuss the issue at a meeting scheduled for April 16, he said.
