The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh and two other diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia have resumed consular services after closing all of last week due to security concerns.
The Embassy said in a statement that consular services would resume on Sunday, but warned U.S. citizens “to continue to be aware of their surroundings and take extra precautions when travelling throughout the country.” The diplomatic facilities in Riyadh, Jiddah and Dhahran had been closed all of last week after the Embassy warned citizens that individuals associated with a terrorist organisation could be targeting Westerners.
