Three people were killed and 10 injured on Monday in separate blasts in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a police source said.
Three policemen were killed and one injured when an explosive device went off targeting their patrol in western Mosul.
Four members of the Kurdish Peshmerga security forces were injured in a blast targeting their patrol, which was heading for a raid and search operation, the source added.
In northern Mosul, five civilians were injured in a car bomb attack. The suicide bomber was driving the car near a foreign real estate company in al—Islah al—Zeraei neighbourhood.
The blasts come one day after suicide bombings targeting members of the government—backed Sahwa militia killed more than 40 fighters, who have been supporting the government in its fight against al—Qaeda.
Mosul, some 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, is among the most ethnically diverse, and dangerous, regions of Iraq. Insurgents continue to mount near—daily attacks in the area, despite successive security sweeps that police say have netted hundreds of detainees.
