The Sri Lankan Postal Services secretary Hemasiri Fernando released a stamp and first day cover to mark the occasion.

Sri Lankan Culture Secretary Wimal Rupasinghe handed over a commemorative volume on Tagore to Colombo University Vice Chancellor Kshanika Hirimburegama.
