Three civilian residents of Bor Dhudnal and Athmuqam villages who were cutting shrubs in thick forests crossed over the Line of Control to the Indian side and were arrested, according to military sources on Sunday.
The sources said the three entered the Indian side by mistake and were arrested by the Indian security forces which allegedly treated them inhumanly. One of them escaped while the other two were still in custody, the sources said.
Soon after the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan met in New York and asked the respective Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) to consult each other and find effective ways of bringing peace and tranquillity on the LoC, a few incidents along the LoC have been reported, drawing clarifications from both sides.
Earlier the Pakistan Army described as baseless, reported intrusions across the LoC by the Army personnel. The DGMOs are expected to meet soon and dates are being worked out, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson last week.
