At least two people were injured on Wednesday when a rocket hit a convoy of US diplomats in western Afghanistan, officials confirmed.

“A rocket hit a foreign convoy in Enjeel district of Herat province on Wednesday morning, on its way to Herat Airport,” said district governor Bashir Ahmad.

The US embassy in Kabul confirmed the attack in the southern part of the city.

“Two Americans were lightly injured and are being treated at the Spanish hospital in Herat,” it said.

Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack.
