‘India, Pakistan should fight poverty together’

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif spoke to Narendra Modi on Friday afternoon and offered his congratulations and good wishes on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s impressive victory in the just concluded general elections in India, according to an official statement.

PTI adds from Ahmedabad:

During his conversation, Mr. Sharif invited Mr. Modi to visit Pakistan.

Mr. Sharif said he “closely” followed the Lok Sabha elections in India.

Mr. Modi said during the campaign he emphasised the need for India and Pakistan to fight against poverty.
