Following the death of five Pakistanis in Zhob district of Balochistan, the Afghan Charge d’ Affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office and a strong protest lodged over the indiscriminate firing on Wednesday by the Afghan Border Police. The incident took place near village Godwana, Zhob district, which resulted in the five deaths.
Islamabad has conveyed serious concern and asked Kabul to hold an inquiry.
News reports said three people were injured in the incident in the border area of Qamar Din Karez, around 350 km from Zhob city.
Five tribesmen were killed when they crossed the border for fodder for their cattle.
It could not be ascertained if the tribesmen were farmers and a news agency reported that the five were Taliban militants.
