Witnesses say a town in the rebel-held east of Libya has come under air attacks and forces loyal to leader Muammar Qadhafi have retaken a nearby oil facility.
The witnesses told The Associated Press they saw two warplanes bomb the eastern part of the town of Ajdabiya at 10 a.m. local time Wednesday. They also said that pro-Qadhafi forces were advancing on the town, some 470 miles (750 kilometers) east of the capital Tripoli.
Ahmed Jerksi, manager of the Sirte oil company which runs the facility in the eastern town of Brega, said pro-Qadhafi forces retook control of the facility, southwest of Ajdabiya.
