A private funeral for Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died on Wednesday after a seven-year battle with pancreatic cancer, was held, according to a media report.

It was a small private gathering on Friday, the Wall Street Journal quoted a person familiar with the matter as saying.

The person did not reveal where or at what time the event took place, citing privacy for Jobs’ family.

Jobs passed away at the age of 56, having fought for years with pancreatic cancer.

Apple has said no public services have been planned as yet for Jobs.

In a letter to Apple’s employees on Wednesday, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook said the company is “planning a celebration of Steve’s extraordinary life” for staff that will take place soon.

The iconic technocrat was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2004 and underwent a liver transplant in 2009.

He died of complications from pancreatic cancer in Palo Alto, California, on Wednesday surrounded by his wife and immediate family.
