Militants blew up a car bomb at the gate to a NATO compound in Kabul, killing at least two civilians and two guards, police said.

District police chief Najib Samsor said the powerful car bomb blew up at about 4-30 a.m. Tuesday at the first gate leading into the camp. He says it was not immediately clear if it was a suicide bombing or a remote detonation.

Samsor says in addition to the dead, eight civilians were wounded.
